Phew. Our illustration course is over and I feel a bit zombie-ish. This week has been a long one with lots to do every day. We had to establish two showcases of the work we've done for the course in the lobbies of our school building, and at the same time we had a professional illustrator come and comment our works (I received some very encouraging comments from her!).
Not that I can take a breather just yet. Local art museums are holding an art adventure thingie for children and teenagers and they have asked us to design a character, a logo and a poster for the event. Currently I'm working on the character and they expect some drafts next week, so I need to finish my sketches tomorrow. I'm very excited about this, since designing characters is what I enjoy a lot and I'm very eager to show my suggestions to the museum folks.
So, all in all, I've been doing pretty good. But now I feel a bit burned out, though. Juggling arduous illustration course, the museum project, a logo design for a typography course and personal stuff (trying to crank up some extra pages of my webcomic for December, for example) has almost drained my batteries and pretty much screwed up my sleep patterns.
But I can't stop yet, since the museum project has a very tight deadline, I haven't even started the logo and I don't have any extra comic pages done for December updates, so I feel like I'm kinda running on spare batteries. I hope nothing else shows up, but I'm dreading the chance I have to design suggestions for the logo and poster for the museum thing.
And guess what? I feel like I have an art block lurking just around the corner! Trying to keep it at bay by just working constantly, but daymn, feels like I'm trying to run away from a pack of wolves with legs that don't work.

Surprisingly though, I don't feel desperate. Just drained, but I still have a pretty good mood going on for most of the time.
At least the Christmas holiday is going to feel extra wonderful after this! (I'm also on a candy strike until Christmas. No sugary sweets for me for a month! And of course all stores have mountains of Christmas chocolates on display! HNNNNNGHGHGHG.)

Bella Swan is NOT a good role model for girls. Ellen Ripley is.
